2011 Breakfast of Champions

This year’s Peninsula Schools Education Foundation Breakfast, will take place at 7:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Canterwood Golf and Country Club.  We are honored to announce that our keynote speaker will be the new University of Washington President, Michael Young.  Previously, President Young served for seven years as president of the University of Utah where he earned a reputation for enhancing the school's efforts related to research and economic development.  In fact, under his leadership, the university surpassed MIT to become the nation's top research institution for creating start-up companies.  President Young is a tenured professor of law and held several positions within the administration of President George H.W. Bush.  

As a Peninsula School District supporter, you know about the important work the Foundation does in supporting our local schools.  This past year we were able to grant out approximately $20,000 to teachers throughout the Peninsula School District for projects and materials that they could not otherwise afford to bring into their classrooms. Both teachers and students who have benefited from our grants have consistently expressed their appreciation for the grants that you, and others like you, have made possible.  As you well know, the district is currently facing dramatic budgetary constraints.  Your support for grants to help teachers and students is even more critical during these difficult economic times.

In addition to inviting your attendance at this year's breakfast, please also consider sponsoring a table. Since this is our only fundraiser, table sponsors are critical to the success of the breakfast.  Each table sponsor contributes $400 to the Foundation and invites six or more persons to join them at their table.  Attendees enjoy the opportunity to speak directly with district staff, principals, and teachers about our school system.    

If you would like to sponsor a table, you can register online before September 23, 2011. If you would prefer to attend as an individual or cannot attend but wish to make a cash gift to the Foundation, you may do so online or by using the enclosed form. Also note that we expect to sell out again this year. Please plan on pre-paying in order to book your seat(s).
